Our services annually transport over 2.5 billion tonne kilometres and save nearly 160,000 tonnes of CO2 compared to conventional road transport.
We also rely increasingly on electromobility in all areas as part of our internal efforts. Efficient production processes, avoiding empty legs and energy-saving driving behaviour contribute further. Our modern locomotives convert brake energy back into electrical power and feed this back into the overhead power lines. We use low-emission biodiesel to power our diesel locomotives used for shunting services.
